Pickles...

Post by hardcorebee24 »

Made 4 quarts yesterday with the cucumbers that came out of my garden. 4 different types:

Traditional Dill
Spicy Kung Pao with Kung Pao peppers, crushed red pepper, black peppercorns.
Extra Garlic Half Sour
Sweet and Sour (Honey, Brown Sugar and more vinegar)

I'll let you guys know if they came out good. I'm thinking the sweet ones may not be too good but we'll see.

My wife makes pickles once in a while, took her a couple of times before they turned out how we wanted.

Too old, just wasn't your day, whatever the reason is. In the end, everybody gets beaten. The most you can hope for is that you stay on top a while. Be the best."

Thsi is VERY interesting... never tried making pickles but eat plenty... usually only do jam with my garden different types of berries... and Beats when the beats become 1$ for 10lbs... i buy about 50lbs or more and do MEGA batches... i love that stuff

I eat a jar a week... in winter i can eat a few jars a weeks which would be about 4$ otherwise so easy to make and big savings for a quality product that is very good for the health... and i don't even steralize that much... i use the boiling mixture (beats, vinegar and slight touch of sugar) and poor it inside my jars as they get out of the steaming dishwasher... they are perfect for a yr
