Gonna keep this brief since I am not here as much as I'd like these days myself.

It was never about whether you agreed or disagreed with RASTA's takes.

You knew it was going to make sense.

You knew it was going to have passion.

And you knew it would entertain and/or keep the convo going.

He was one of group of posters I could always count on to learn from.

Rest In Power, RASTA.

You are golden.

Great post

Rest in Peace Rasta, this is pretty odd I posted with Rasta since 2005 at the ESPN boards when I was 14. Him, Woobase, maxpapic, ceelow, Lurky, Gotiye, etc etc etc. Ratsta would always break down in depth how he felt about a particular topic within the sport, and whether or not you agreed with him you couldn't take away his experience and love for the fight game. He had seen it all, and still followed it like a madman. I'm fortunate to have known him, and TTR definitely took a huge loss in losing Rasta. I truly, truly hope he is in a better place.
Much much love to Rasta I'll miss his him.

I don't want to presume that everyone needs or wants such a thing in order to be happy, but I got the feeling that there was a chapter in his life left unfulfilled. The guy had a lot of knowledge and love to give, judging from all of his posts over the years. The duality of course existed in him living alone, in the far reaches geographically, but still reaching out via this forum to connect and form friendships.

I can't help but feel like if he'd found someone, it may have opened up so much more for him, emotionally and spiritually.

In any event, he lives on through our words and stories, and I am glad he is no longer in pain.
His family was his dogs, he was prolly the No Woman No Cry type.
I remember him being completely bumbed about putting one down a few years ago.
Shortly after he was raising two husky pups.

So sad... I miss Kev everytime i log on TTR. As a human, we associated stuff and build concepts... my concept of TTR involved Rasta... Kevin and I so much common values... this is a hard blow. But i'm up for the count.

The Canelo fight brings home for me the type of fight that Kev and I would have enjoyed discussing with each other... he loved the 'lunch pail' guys that would take on all comers and hated the politics of boxing robbing us of potentially great fights... it's more than just politics that rob us from seeing Canelo dare to be great or revealing what he is, but it was always fun to debate with him on where the issues with boxing stemmed from as a fan.

His insight on the style of fighters and the business of boxing were challenging intellectually - in a good way. Just remembering how much I miss his voice in the aftermath of the fight and the potential for the Jacobs/GGG matchup.

I've forgotten and come on looking out for his posts, only to remember he's no longer with us. Very hard to comprehend I'll never hear his views again. Left a massive void on this site. It'll never be quite the same for me and I think the majority of us. Seems wrong that new posters will come onto this site and be unaware of Rasta.

hello all,

checking in after hearing about the klitschko loss tonight, and stumble upon this terrible tragedy.
super embarrassed to come and pay my respects so late after the fact, and it still bums me out to no end to read about it. i'll definitely miss him jumping into the nba thread to voice his displeasure about the thread, and the sport.

may he rest in peace.

Evening all

Its been a very very long time since ive posted on here..... I randomly sent a message to the TTR twitter account just before christmas and astor responded tellING my of rasta''s passing.

Many fond memories of rasta... orginal member of the 'hit squad' the rasta and lurky tag team...... when he felt a prospect was being overhyped he always came out with the 'he's not the Christ phrase'

I called at his work a few years ago to see what was going on... and had gotten a pm with details on his condition and why he wasn;t online... Kevin died on August 16th... my BD... so i'll always remember him.

Friday will be the day he passed... Miss you Kev... Love or hate Rasta, he was someone with a color, a defined status... a passionate man... We had lots of similar passions which made us cross pass through this medium that is internet. Kev was a good person. He was sensible to true emotions expressed by others. That is something you see less and less... he was genuine... no filter at the present.

and for the photo above in the sig of Top Buzz...

on a Top Buzz night he'd say he'd eat the peanuts out of her shit lol :D
