Re: TTR SUPERFIGHTS CHALLENGE #14- FEBRUARY '22 SCHEDULE- Part 2
- In a way, this is like Jacobs-Ryder. I picked Jacobs but immediately had doubts (his inactivity; the fact that the fight was in England) but I ended up staying with him and thought a made the right pick until the reading of the judges' scorecards. For the moment at least, I'm going with Linares but I have my doubts! He's 36, he's coming in off a loss, and the bout is in Russia. The loss was on points to Devin Haney and Abdullaev's only loss was to Haney and it was by TKO. But, he's 27 and he's won three in a row since that loss. It's like I'm trying to talk myself out of picking Linares but I haven't totally convinced myself to do so.
- They're both 35, Brook's coming in off a loss, and Khan hasn't fought since 2019. It's a shame that they didn't fight each other early in their careers but they're finally doing it now. It's not for a title or a title shot but for pride and, of course, money. I'm going with Brook but I won't be surprised if Khan prevails or if it ends up a draw!
- Munguia
- Rigondeaux (I hate to say it but I wouldn't mind seeing him lose and then announce his retirement. His stranglehold on the lineal world junior featherweight title, which he last defended in June 2019, has been and remains disgraceful.)
- Taylor
- Ancajas
- Okolie
