SUPERFIGHT #38:

Vacant WBC World Bantamweight Title-
Luis Nery (TTR #1, Transnational #2; 26-0, 20 KOs)
TKO-2 1:03
Shinsuke Yamanaka (WBC #1, TTR #3, Transnational #4; 27-2-2. 19 KOs)
- Nery weighed in at 121 and therefore forfeited the WBC title. The now vacant WBC title was available to Yamanaka, who weighed in at 117 1/2, only.
- Another result of Nery failing to make weight was that Yamanaka's The Ring Magazine title was not on the line.
- Nery floored Yamanaka four times.
- After suffering his second consecutive defeat, the 35-year-old Yamanaka is expected to retire.
- With Nery winning, the WBC title remains vacant.
