TTR Challenge #21- Standings After Week #10

Post by straycat »

RESULTS and POINTS BREAKDOWN:

Fight #1- Middleweight Bout-
Dominic Wade (WBA #12, WBC #14; 18-0, 12 KOs)
Split Dec. 10
Sam Soliman (IBF #5, Transnational #7, TTR #12; 44-13, 1 NC, 18 KOs)
- Wade scored a questionable knockdown in the fourth round. It proved to be the margin of victory.
- The scores were 97-92 for Wade, 96-93 for Soliman, and 95-94 for Wade.
- With all the televised boxing on Friday night, I only got to see the 10th round. However I did DVR the bout and watched it on the morning of the 27th. I scored it for TTR at that time and had Soliman as the winner, 95-94.
.....11 points for picking Wade plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #2- IBF World Flyweight Title-
Champion Amnat Ruenroeng (TTR #2, Transnational #2, The Ring #2; 16-0, 5 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 12
John Riel Casimero (IBF #1, TTR #7, Transnational #10, The Ring #10; 21-3, 13 KOs)
- The extremely dirty, foul-filled bout often resembled a wrestling match.
- Casimero was knocked down in the second and seventh rounds.
- Ruenroeng was penalized one point for holding in the eleventh round.
.....9 points for picking Ruenroeng plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #3- BONUS FIGHT:
Vacant WBO Interim World Welterweight Title-
Timothy Bradley (WBO #1, TTR #2, Transnational #2, The Ring #4, WBC #4; 32-1-1, 1 NC, 12 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 12
Jessie Vargas (WBO #4 at 147; The Ring #6, TTR #7, Transnational #7- all at 140; 26-1, 9 KOs)
- Bradley won most of the rounds (eight on TTR's card) through effective aggressiveness and by landing the harder punches.
- Vargas hurt Bradley badly in the latter part of the 12th round. Referee Pat Russell mistook the 10-second warning for the final bell and halted the bout. Valdez rejoiced, thinking he had won by TKO. He soon found out that wasn't the case as Bradley was unanimously judged the victor by the scores of 116-112, 117-111, and 115-112.
.....18 points for picking Bradley plus 4 points for picking him by decision

ScapposeJohn commenting on Shane Mosely possibly being unaware he was taking PED's wrote: Likewise. It reminds me of President Clinton saying that he smoked weed in college but never inhaled. Yeah..........right.
