TTR CHALLENGE #20- FINAL STANDINGS

Post by KSTAT124 »

WEEK #26 RESULTS and POINTS BREAKDOWN:

RESULTS and POINTS BREAKDOWN:

Fight #1- IBF World Super Flyweight Title-
Champion Zolani Tete (TTR #3, TBRBoard #3, The Ring #5; 20-3, 17 KOs)
TKO-8 1:34
Paul Butler (IBF #9, WBO #11; 17-1, 8 KOs).....10 points for picking Tete plus 2 points for picking him by KO/TKO

Fight #2- SCRATCH-
WBA FEDELATIN, WBC Latino, and IBF Intercontinental Cruiserweight Titles-
WBA FEDELATIN and WBC Latino champion Yunier Dorticos (WBA #3, WBC #11, IBF #11, TTR #13, WBO #14; 18-0, 17 KOs)
vs
IBF Intercontinental champion Murat Gassiev (WBC #8, IBF #10; 20-0, 14 KOs)
- Bout canceled.

Fight #3- IBF World Flyweight Title-
Champion Amnat Ruenroeng (TBRBoard #2, TTR #3, The Ring #6; 15-0, 5 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 12
Zou Shiming (WBO #1, IBF #4; 6-1, 1 KO)
- Zou, who was credited with a questionable knockdown in the second round, was clearly outpointed by the defending champion.
- All three judges had Ruenroeng winning by 116-111 scores......10 points for picking Ruenroeng plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #4- WBA World Welterweight Title-
Champion Keith Thurman (The Ring #7, TBRBoard #8, TTR #9; 25-0, 1 ND, 21 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 12
Robert Guerrero (WBA #4, The Ring #8, TTR #12; 32-3-1, 2 NDs, 18 KOs)
- This was Thurman's first title defense since the WBA elevated him from interim champion to world champion.
- Although the bout was sanctioned as a WBA title bout, the ring announcer did not announce it as such nor was Thurman, who did not wear his WBA belt into the ring, announced as being the defending WBA champ.
- Thurman floored Guerrero in the 9th round.
- Guerrero showed courage and determination battling back during the bout's final three rounds but it was way too little, way too late.
- The official scores were 120-107, 118-109, and 118-109.
- Scoring the bout for TTR, I had Thurman winning 118-110 ( 9 rounds for Thurman including a 10-8 9th, 2 rounds for Guerrero, and one round even)......9 points for picking Thurman plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #5- Super Lightweight Bout-
Adrien Broner (WBA #3, WBC #4, The Ring #5, IBF #8; 30-1, 1 NC, 22 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 12
John Molina, Jr. (27-6, 22 KOs)
- Broner weighed in at 141; Molina at 140.
- The scores were 120-108, 120-108, and 118-110.
- Steve Farhood scored the bout for NBC and had Broner winning 119-109.
- I scored the bout for TTR and, like Farhood, gave Molina only the third round. I too had Broner winning 119-109.....9 points for picking Broner plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #6- Featherweight Bout-
Abner Mares (WBC #2, WBA #2, WBO #2, TTR #3, The Ring #3, IBF #5, TBRBoard #6; 29-1-1, 15 KOs)
Unan. Dec. 10
Arturo Reyes (Arturo Santos Reyes; Arturo "Rey" Santos; 18-5, 5 KOs)
- Mares floored his fellow former Mexican Olympian in the second round and went on to win by the scores of 96-93, 98-91, and 99-90.
- Scoring the bout for TTR, I had Mares winning 97-92......8 points for picking Mares plus 2 points for picking him by decision

Fight #7- WBO International Junior Lightweight and NABF Super Featherweight Titles-
Champion Francisco Vargas (WBC #1, WBO #1, IBF #4, TTR #5, TBRBoard #6, The Ring #7; 22-0-1, 16 KOs)
TKO-8 1:30
Will Tomlinson (WBC #22; 23-2-1, 13 KOs).....9 points for picking Vargas plus 2 points for picking him by KO/TKO

We had 67 points available. I was the only one to pick six winners and finished with the week's best total, 59 points. It was enough to elevate me from third place to second but the fact that I only picked two of six correct methods of victory prevented me from moving up any higher.

Therefore, CONGRATULATIONS to tainos, TTR Challenge #20's Super Champion!!!
