I could have played it conservatively by waiting for Ken to post his picks and duplicate them. That would have assured that he couldn't catch me.

That's not my style- I'm going for the jugular!

1. Brand UD
2. Marriaga TKO
3. Silgado TKO
4. M. Rios UD
5. Osejo UD
6. Briceno UD
7. UPSET- Larghetti TKO
8. Koelling UD
9. Gassiev TKO
10. Boytsov TKO
11. Sanchez TKO
12. Szilli UD
13. Love TKO
14. Escalera MD (his second straight upset win)
15. Hinojosa UD (After a disastrous 1-7 start to his career, Hinojosa is 24-0 with 1 NC in his last 25 fights! The overrated Parejo's best wins are over Jean Sampson and Angky Angkota. Sampson's only important win was a DQ over an old Rosendo Alvarez who was winning the fight until he got tossed. Angkota had been pretty good but was fading by the time he fought Parejo. Hinojosa may not have beaten names but he's a veteran who is used to winning.)
16. Diaz TKO
17. Parra UD

1. Brand UD
2. Marriaga TKO
3. Silgado TKO

I'll get to the rest later this week.

Bill, you're going for the jugular by picking Larghetti? Beware of overconfidence!

Good luck. I like the Escalera pick- I might pick him too but Hinojosa? You were right with Ortega last week but to me, Hinojosa looks like a defeat waiting to happen.

Going for the jugular? Looks like you're taking a dive!!

1. Brand UD
2. Marriaga KO
3. Silgado TKO
4. M. Rios UD
5. Osejo UD
6. Briceno UD (although a Rueda win would not surprise me)
7. Huck TKO (I know you like Larghetti and have ranked him in your cruiserweight top ten but you don't rank him there now. There must be a reason for that, right?)
8. Koelling UD
9. Gassiev TKO
10. Boytsov TKO
11. Sanchez TKO
12. Szilli UD
13. Love TKO
14. Not saying Escalera doesn't have a chance- Badou Jack was TKOed in one by Derek Edwards- but I think Jack bounces back with a win- Jack TKO
15. Hinojosa has beaten softer opposition that Parejo has. What is crazy is that the winner of this fight will be the WBA's Interim champion, #1 contender, and Official Challenger.....Parejo UD
16. Diaz TKO
17. Parra UD

OK...OK...OK...

I've managed to blow a 5-point lead.

But...............

I always liked Larghetti and if he and Huck fought again, I would pick him again. No shit, I really would!

I thought Escalera, who had been doing well, was catching Jack at the right time. Kudos to Jack for a nice comeback win.

I really thought Parejo was worse than Hinojosa! As it turned out, he isn't!

But, Ken, I wouldn't go opening any champagne yet. If those bouts in Colombia were postponed or canceled, I'm still alive and kickin'!

I still don't know if Fights #s 1, 2, and 3 took place or not. BoxRec posted some more Friday night results last night and this evening (some of which- ie. Lopez-Betancourt/Ocampo-Carrera- we had posted before they did) and they have yet to post some from Saturday that we already have (all the undercard bouts from Szili-Zemski).

So, I guess I'll wait a little longer. If the results haven't been posted by tomorrow night, I'll compile the standings based on the other 14 fights and post a Week #13 lineup.

If Fights #s 1, 2, and 3 took place and the results were accessible, this Challenge would be over. I still don't have any idea if the bouts were held. Rather than wait any longer, I'm going to compile the standings just using the fourteen fights we know took place.

I'll be really pissed if it turns out the three bouts in question actually took place!
