1. 10-9 Dirrell
2. 10-9 Dirrell
3. 10-9 Dirrell - 1st time Froch lands a significant punch. Was tempted to give it to him until i rewatched the round and thought Dirrell outlanded him. One round that could go either way.
4. 10-9 Dirrell
5. 10-9 Dirrell
6. 10-9 Froch - Froch starting to be more effective.
7. 10-9 Froch - Dirrell landed the most significant punch but he held too much in that round.
8. 10-9 Froch
9. 10-9 Froch - Ugly round
10. 9-9 Even - Froch was hurt. Both guys fouling
11. 10-9 Dirrell - His best round
12. 10-9 Dirrell - Not much happening. Dirrell landed some flurries and that was about it in that round. Lots of missed punches on both sides.
115-112 Dirrell. I had it more lopsided when I originally saw the fight. Round 3 and 12 were close.

I don't think it would hurt, quite honestly. This will be TTR's Official scorecard for the fight in question.mekane wrote:are we allowed to rewatch close rounds?tainos wrote:1. 10-9 Dirrell

1. Dirrell 10-9
Nothing much landed, but Dirrell controlled the action with jabs to the chest and made Froch miss.
2. Dirrell 10-9
Again, Dirrell landing jabs and making Froch miss. Andre landed some actual counterpunches for the first time.
3. Dirrell 10-9
Andre feeling it now. Moving and jabbing. Landing combinations and keeping Froch just a step behind. Andre finally landing left hands.
4. Dirrell 10-9
Froch abandoning his old strategy, and is now only jabbing at Dirrell's body. It's only slightly more effective. He's still reaching and pawing, and Dirrell is landing the significant shots.
5. Dirrell 10-9
Froch still out of range and is getting frustrated, throwing Dirrell to the ground. Andre jabbing and moving, and landing the only punches.
6. Dirrell 10-9
Froch is getting desperate. He's sloppy, wild, and dirty, but it may have been his best round. Dirrell can't help himself at this point. He's just running, sliding, and loving it. Not fun to watch, but he's still in control.
7. Froch 10-9
Weird round. Dirrell came out tough, and was landing. But for the middle two minutes he just held, and let Froch toss him around and rough him up. It seemed like he was trying to bait the ref to deduct a point. When it ended up not working, he fought well at the end of the round too. But Froch gets it for the rough work he put in.
8. Froch 10-9
Froch is clearly frustrated by Dirrell's speed and clinching. He takes advantage of every slip and every clinch by punching behind the head and throwing Dirrell. Dirrell still lands when he plants his feet, but he's feeding into the dirtiness, which favors Froch.
9. Froch 10-9
Froch putting in his best work of the fight now. He still can't land cleanly, but it doesn't matter. Body shots, shoulder shots, behind the head. Anything he can do at this point, he's doing. The ref ended up warning him for this, but it's an improvement.
10. Froch 10-8
It doesn't even look like a fight at this point. Dirrell is too quick for Froch to land punches, but he's also not interested in landing his own. He's deducted a point for clinching, which is probably justified. And at the end of the round a fight broke out. Finally.
11. Froch 10-9
Froch impersonating Calzaghe here. And doing real work now. Dirrell can still land, but is too focused on movement, which isn't working at this point. He's not dodging all the punches, and he's not landing any. Froch won all 3 minutes.
12. Dirrell 10-9
Andre finally showed what could happen if he could commit. He looked mean early, and kind of gave up late, but still landed the best shots.
114-113 Dirrell
Nothing much landed, but Dirrell controlled the action with jabs to the chest and made Froch miss.

114-113 Dirrell
Done posting. RIP TTR.
Round 1 - 10-10 - Both men seemed pretty tense in there. Dirrell controlled the first part of the fight but Froch landed some decent punches in fairly quick repetition to even out the round.
Round 2 - 10-9 - Dirrell - Landed the better punches and Froch looks a bit frustrated trying to catch Dirrell.
Round 3 - 10-9 - Dirrell - Some very nice counterpunching but Froch is closing the distance a bit.
Round 4 - 10-10 - Froch started landing but ate some good combinations from Dirrell.
Round 5 - 10-9 - Dirrell - He just controlled the action again with better placement of his punches.
Round 6 - 10-9 - Froch - I feel like he just eked out this fairly even round with some spirited exchanges.
Round 7 - 10-9 - Froch - Very close round but Froch had a sustained attack while Dirrell was complaining and landed better.
Round 8 - 10-9 - Froch - Landed the biggest shot of the round. Each guy landed about one good shot.
Round 9 - 10-9 - Dirrell - Caught Froch with several counters. Froch had a few good punches as well. Close round.
Round 10 - 9-9 - Dirrell's round there. Froch had some moments but Dirrell hurt him. Point deduction for Dirrell.
Round 11 - 10-9 - Dirrell - Landed in combination very well and controlled the exchanges.
Round 12 - 10-9 - Dirrell - First 2 minutes was landing well and Froch came on in the last minute but wasn't enough.
116-113 for Dirrell

Round 1
-Dirrell lands a body shot combo in the 1st seconds
-Dirrell lands a nice hard counter jab 30 seconds in the round
-Both landing jabs and looking to cut the ring
-Froch lands an arm punch (right) to Dirrell's body half way
-Dirrell showing nice elusive D skills and nice backward footwork
-With 30 seconds left, Froch launches a combo attack by jumping in
He doesn't land much (a hard jab and a right to Dirrell's body)
And shows awful footwork in the process
(bringing his right foot forward after throwing the straight right)
-Dirrell doubled the jab

VERY Close round,
Dirrell doing nice early
both exchanging jabs midway
Froch ending with the combo attack
10-9 Dirrell
10-9.5 for Dirrell (.5 system)
I thought Dirrell showed more in the first 2:30 and used the jab better. Dirrell was also very elusive which attenuated the strenght and efficiency of Froch's late round attacks. Dirrell's attacks connected well without Froch being in control.

Round 2
-Both fighters using lots of faints and measuring defensive jabs
without any of them landing anything
-Dirrell tripled the jab at the end of the first minute without landing any
-Dirrell landing a chest jab, and then a 2 jabs combo (chess and body)
-Froch tries to counter with a 1-2 body combo but only lands partially
as Dirrell already had started to back out
-Dirrell landing a soft left to Froch's body, Froch does the same (a right though)
-Froch more aggressive with his footwork but becomes predictable and misses
which gives the opportunity to Dirrell to counter Froch with a left after froch misses a hook
-Froch triples the jab and misses with 30 seconds left
-Direll again lands a double body jab combo

Dirrell 10-9 (usual scoring system)
Dirrell 10-9 (.5 scoring system)
This round IMO was clearer with Froch being the aggressor but not being efficient at it. Dirrell used evasive skills (mainly footwork) to attenuate Froch's efficiency and aggressivity. Dirrell also used a very efficient jab in combo and nice counters

Round 3
-Dirrell starts imediatly by throwing a combo and misses,
Both fighters clinch and Froch lands a back of the head shot and
a left hook when the ref separated both fighter... Froch is frustrated and
wants to lesser Dirrell evasive tactics with bullying tactics
-Froch is extremely predictable when he is on the attack and
that simplifies things a lot for a fighter with great footwork like Dirrell
-1:10 in the 3rd round, Dirrell lands a great 1-2 combo in explosion,
it becomes clear that Dirrell can land almost when he wants using
his quick hands and footwork... while Froch is struggling to land something
-Dirrell landing all kinds of punches in that second minute of the round
-Froch lands the first big punch of the fight with a straight right in full extension while
Dirrell was trying to get away back against the ropes

Round 4:
-40 seconds in the round Dirrell lands a double straight punch combo
-1 minute in the fight Dirrell lands a soft straight to the body of Froch
Froch retaliates with a jab that gets impressively countered by Dirrell
Important to note that Dirrell is not Keeping his ground footowrk wise
planting his front foot and letting Froch get inside the pocket
That is since he was able to counter him effectively and is obviously too fast for passive froch
-Dirrell right away launched a 3 punch combo in explosion without landing anything hard
and doubles the jab circling to control the angles
-2 minute in the round, this is one of froch's worse round... he did nothing except landing a total
of 2 insignificant jabs
-Froch getting clueless, frustrated, tentative and ends up using bullying tactics at the end of the round

Round 5
-Dirrell his best punch combo of the fight as far as connecting power
Again his superior footwork is displayer, he jumps in and lands a 2 straight punch combo
-1 minute in the round Dirrell lands a hard straight to Froch's body
-another similar straight 1:15 in the fight by Dirrell... Froch tentative and
only pawing and defending with a sluggish jab
-Dirrell lands a nice blazzing fast counter jab, froch holds him and throws himon
the ground... Froch is obviously frustrated again
-Froch landed a few upward counter jab in the following seconds
-Froch starting to move a little more in the final minute, landing counter jabs
and landing once from the clinch, bullying Dirrell when holding him
-Fighters exchanged blows without landing much (froch glance dirrell's face)
