Round 1 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 1
Image

LURKYSHAKA: Leonard 10-9
Not a great deal of punches landed by either but Leonard landed all the punches that counted. Clearly a Leonard round.

BIZKIT: Leonard 10-9
Leonard Busy, Hagler not

LAGAIDH: Leonard 10-9
For the largest part of the round Ray moves too well for Hagler to close the distance to do any work. Ray flicks out some long, exploratory jabs which at least touch Hagler. After Hagler gets close and misses a right cross, Ray throws a tough, mostly blocked, right cross-left hook combination. Ray flicks a couple more exploration jabs as he glides around the ring with a twitchy Hagler in tow. The round is half over. As Hagler finds Leonard near a corner he attempts to bore in. Leonard sees this and reacts with two fast punches and is then gone. Leonard's feint makes Hagler flinch. Hagler at last storms in and shoots a right hand to the body of little effect. Leonard grabs Hagler in a headlock. After some Leonard moving and Hagler stalking time, Hagler jumps in with three decent shots to either side of Leonard's ribs. The round winds down with Leonard gliding and Hagler stalking. No blows of consequence are thrown. This round is damn near even in effective aggression. Leonard's jabs were few and his combos of no effect. The same can be said of the few good body shots Hagler landed during the round. Effective aggression being nearly equal, I give the round to Leonard for ring generalship.

QUICK SLICK: Leonard 10-9
Leonard landed the first punch of the fight, dictating the pace, Hagler was the aggressor and stalker, Ray keeping the distance, moving very well in the ring, Hagler trying to go to the body but unsuccessful, nothing much in this round, Leonard landing more.

ERISON: Leonard 10-9
Hagler landed harder shots, but Leonard outlanded him

GUYSTA: Leonard 10-9
Hagler pretty much gave this round away. He let SRL totally control the pace of the round and mostly followed him around without punching. SLR threw all of the combos and landed some nice shots while Hagler just followed him aroung the ring plodding toward him like he KNEW he was going to catch him and KO him.

FIGHTFANATIC: Leonard 10-9
this was a feeling out round. Neither man threw many punches, nor were they very successful with what little they did throw.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9
Too much chasing and not enough throwing by Hagler (only 1 significant blow landed-body shot).

Leonard set the pace, and controled teh whole rd.

RASTA666: 10-9
Not much of a round to score. I gave it to Leonard and just counted those that landed.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9
Hagler throwing barely anything. Leonard fighting in fits and spurts, running away, but landing on the outside.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARD FOR ROUND 2

Post by the13r »

ImageImage

Round 2 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 2
Image

LURKYSHAKA: Leonard 10-9
Close round. Leonard landed the bigger more eye catching punches, whilst Hagler landed some decent inside punches particularly to the body. With the round in the balance, Leonard took it in last 30 seconds or so.

BIZKIT: Leonard 10-9
Leonard throwing more, Landing more, Landing Cleaner

LAGAIDH: Leonard 10-9
Leonard immediately returns to circling and jabbing. He lands a light counter over a Hagler right. Hagler shoots a long left hook of no consequence. For a while Hagler stalks and shoots shots that do not land. Leonard only moves. Leonard stops and throws a decent left to the body and then a right upstairs that is blocked. There is a clinch in center ring and Hagler hammers Leonard to the body a few times. A series of clinches follows whenever Hagler catches up to the speed of Leonard's feet. Nothing big happens, but I would rather be Hagler in those exchanges. He's being rough on the inside. The round is half over. Leonard lands some jabs and tries to clinch but Hagler punches him off. Leonard lands a long bolo right. That might be the best single punch of the round so far. After that they revert to glider/stalker. Leonard lands a good one-two, they clinch, but Hagler lets fly 3 good rights to the ribs. With 16 seconds to go Ray counters Hagler and initiates another one-two. Leonard finally punches out of a clinch. Leonard lands a few more decent 2 and 3 punch combos before the bell. Leonard scores more over the course of the round. It is unfortunate for Hagler that he can't cut off the ring because he is trying to work, but is out of range much of the time. When they are closer, Leonard scores most, but maybe not the hardest. I give the round to Leonard for controlling the ringspace in addition to slightly out scoring Hagler.

QUICK SLICK: Leonard 10-9
Again, Sugar moving like a fox countering well with the jab, Hagler trying to cut the ring but Sugar too quick, Hagler landing a 1-2 halfway through the round but the last 30 seconds, Leonard scoring with effective 1-2's of his own, avoiding to go toe to toe with Marvin

ERISON: Leonard 10-9
SRL outboxing Hagler, but Marvin closing distance

GUYSTA: Leonard 10-9
This was a pretty hard round to score. If you listened to the 2 clowns, you would have thought SRL was doing anything he wanted and landing everything. In reality, he wasn't landing much and Hagler finally started to cut off the ring a little. Everytime he did, SRL would just move forward and try and clinch. During these clinches Hagler landed several nice body shots. He had to have had 15-20 body shots in the 4-5 clinches in the round. SRL landed some good combos in the round that didn't even seem to phase Hagler. And with the nice left to start the round, a few shots during the round, and a beautiful counter left hook off SRL's last combo that only landed one punch(even though both douche bags insinuated SRL was the one who landed a great shot at the end) and I thought Hagler got the better of him. It should be noted that Hagler's was more in control of the ring in this round as evident by SRL's constant clinches and holding.

FIGHTFANATIC: Leonard 10-9
both men opening up some and starting to throw. Was leaning towards giving it to Hagler but the overall cleaner punches were landed by Leonard. Especially inside the last minute, Leonard was landing very clean effective power shots. Whereas Hagler could not find Leonard enough to land enough telling/defining punches. (See the straight right at 30-31 seconds in this round, also off the break at 16 seconds, the body head combo)

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9
Closer than the opening rd, but Leonard just fighting a smart fight while Hagler isnt busy enough.

RASTA666: 10-9
Again I gave it to Leonard but I can easily see it going to Marvin. Leonard though did his Ali impression in the last half minute.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9
SRL outlanding and out-pacing Marvellous. Marvin can't get on the inside.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 3

Post by the13r »

Round 3 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 3
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler
Close round. Could have been scored even or even to Leonard. Strong, purposeful start for Hagler, but Leonard came back towards the end and Hagler started to look frustrated. I give it to Hagler just about.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Leonard
This was the closest round thus far, It appeared Leonard landed more

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Leonard
The opening part of the round is fairly even. Hagler can't land on Leonard because he can't catch him and Leonard doesn't land on Hagler because he won't commit. Near the ropes Hagler puts a tiny left hook on Leonard's temple who misses a straight left in return. Hagler lands again near the ropes and has success with a few jabs following Ray away from the ropes. Ray bounces a soft right off of Hagler's dome and tries an uppercut-hook combo that is partially blocked. Ray does some clinching after missed shots; Hagler pounds whatever he can in the clinch. Leonard scores a nice uppercut-hook-hook (all rights) off of a clinch. In the last 30 seconds Ray punches off clinches and leads a little bit scoring the crispest punches of the round. The round is ugly all the way, but Leonard gets it from me for still controlling the space in the ring and scoring a few more clean blows than Hagler. Close.

QUICK SLICK: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard landing occasionally, Hagler landing frequently, Sugar missing alot towards the end of the round, close one!

ERISON: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler finally closed the distance, landing big shots

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler took control from the opening bell in this round. Landed a bunch of shots all over SRL. Leonard looked tired already in this round. He still managed to get off some "pretty" looking combos that didn't do much to Hagler. But Hagler was ALL OVER HIM. This was one of the most one-sided rounds of the fight. Hagler roughed him up pretty good and did a great job of cutting off the ring. Every clinch by SRL winds up with Hagler landing more body shots while SRL waits for the ref to break it up.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
this round the southpaw stance for Hagler enables him to find Leonard more often with power shots. Hagler noticeably avoids the clinch in this round by pulling his hands in and pushing Leonard back and throwing off the would be clinch. Close round.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler just pumped up the pressure. Increased his attack and is giving Leonard some problems

w/ effective aggression.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler
Frustrating round to score. Either guy could have eeked it out. I give it to Hagler as it really becomes obvious here that Leonard is trying to steal rounds not win them.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-10 DRAW
Hagler more aggresive and throwing more punches. Leonard still keeping with the pace. Many shots from both parties were parried. Hagler busier, Leonard more accurate. Neither domiantes the round.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 4

Post by the13r »

ImageImage

Round 4 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 4
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Leonard
Slick defensive work by Leonard. Hagler pushing forward but struggling to land his shots as Leonard counters well.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Leonard
Bout the same as round 2, Ray was far more active and landed more

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler comes out aggressive but Leonard's feet save him from harm. Hagler is constantly missing. They get close and Ray gets the better of a small exchange. Ray seems less tentative and leads a little. Hagler gets the better of a small exchange. Ray unloads a wound up gut shot that looks very hard. The pattern seems set: Ray will play just about even with Hagler for most of the round and then turn it on at the end to pull slightly ahead. Hagler lands his best punch of the fight so far around :15 to go; a nice left hook that slightly whips Leonard's head around. Same old story as the previous three rounds, although Hagler does seem to be closing in on Ray, I have to give this round to Leonard based yet again on superior control of the ringspace and a higher output of crisply landed punches. (I might not complain if you give this to Hagler, or score it even. But I try my damned-est to always pick a round-winner.)

QUICK SLICK: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler can't find Leonard in this round, missing the target alot, Sugar Ray landing his signature haymaker to the body plus a 4-punch combo at 20 seconds left made a good impression and was enough to score him the round.

ERISON: 10-9 Leonard
Big round for Leonard landings flurries at will

GUYSTA: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler falls back into the follow mode in this round. Leonard does a great job of potshotting and getting out. He had great footwork in this round and really kept Hagler at bay with good stick and move combos. It was somewhat like the first round where Hagler spent more time following and covering up than throwing.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Leonard
A close round that at a glance was dominated by srl and his ability to control the distance and when the fight was fought. However on the inside hagler landed the harder more telling blows. Both men had a few moments that could sway a potential judge but IMO srl may have snuck this round.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Leonard
Leonards connects w/ some good counters. Hagler needs to stop thinking too much instead of increasing his volume of punches.

RASTA666: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard by a slim margin. Hagler appears frustrated.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard easily jabs his way through this round. Taunts Hagler towards the end.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 5

Post by the13r »

Round 5 revisited by the 10 TTR judges

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 5
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler
Very tough to score. Leonard edging the first 2 minutes by landing the cleaner, more obviously visible punches. Hagler started to crowd him and get some punches off in the last 40 seconds to take it.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler
Big round for Marvin, Worked Ray over harder than he felt in the previous 4 rounds combined

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Hagler
Right away Hagler lands a really solid shot square in Leonard's belly. Ray moves and tries to answer but Hagler is really stalking this time. Ray seems a little slower and there is back and forth action, Ray's punches look cleaner, but Marvin's appear to hurt more. Pitty-pat from Ray, leaping right hook from Hagler; he looked like a reversed Joe Frazier there! Ray takes it well. Ray tries to pull the round even up with hustle. If I can believe it now Hagler is landing a good right jab and Leonard is missing with hooks from both hands. Ray thought he had Hagler hurt but got fooled. Hagler returns with thudding shots to Ray's dome (who is still taking it well). Ray unloads with a tough-looking combo to Marvin's gut! Some circling, light skirmishing. Hagler misses a straight left but follows up and really twists Ray's head with a second. They fight inside and Hagler lands a monster uppercut right on the point of Ray's chin. This is an action round both ways! Ray looks buzzed for a sec. Wow Hagler takes Ray to the ropes for a little punishment. Ray instinctively flails back.Great round of fighting. Hagler gets the round on my card for dishing out more pain: the name of the game.
Image
It appears that he's had "enough of this shit." Chevy Chase!

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard lands right hand frequently, also nice 1-2's and uppercut-left hook combos, Sugar weaving nicely to avoid Hagler's punches but Marvin finishes strong and wobbles Leonard at the end of the round

ERISON: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler had him in trouble at the end, but too little too late

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard starts off the round with some nice combos in the first minute. It looks as though it is going to be more of the same as the last round. But then Hagler starts imposing his will. He really starts forcing the action and Leonard can't keep up. Hagler never stops throwing! Leonard lands a few more good combos throughout the round, but Hagler is relentless with his pursuit and is cutting off the ring great. By the end of the round, Hagler is in complete control and is wearing SRL down.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
lots of action and big shots in this round. Both men found their opponent with regularity. Very close, tough round to score, but I gave it to Hagler. Again his work inside with body shots and in this round the uppercut (see 28 sec mark) win him the round. *Nice mind play by mmh after the round with the little shove*

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler stole it towards the later part o fthe rd w/ some really hard shots. Hagler kept getting stronger through out teh rd. Throwing and landing some telling shots.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler
Haglers rd although Leonard looked flashy at the start. Hagler finally cut the ring off somewhat.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler neutralises SRL's mobility far better in this round. Leonard reluctant to trade, Hagler throwing far more, and landing far more. Traps Leonard on the ropes and brawls with him.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 6

Post by the13r »

ImageImage

Round 6 revisited by the 10 TTR judges

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 6
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard looked weary but seemed to be playing possum a bit. Hagler slow and innaccurate and Leonard able to land some good shots

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler
Close round, couldnt argue it going to Leonard

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler lunges Ray holds on, when Ray lets go he fires a few shots. Ray isn't moving like he was and Hagler can land some, but Ray throws back if he's not moving. Hagler looks much stronger. Ray fights well from the pocket dodging shots and returning weak fire. Ray starts sliding away a bit, still landing shots seemingly at will. They do not seem hurtful however. Hagler gets Ray on the ropes for an uppercut. Ray moves off and flurries, ending with a hook to the gut. Ray is just laser guiding his punches no matter the force behind them. Hagler grins to say "Not hurt" but it's too bad because he isn't scoring. Last 10 seconds are on the ropes with Hagler getting the better of the exchange. Ray gets this round. He was way more active and accurate and could still move just enough to nullify Hagler's will to do damage.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard trying to jab his way out of exchanges and elusive at the second half of the fight, Hagler pinned him on the ropes but Sugar defending well, scoring in the process, nice controlling of the center of the ring, nice combos to end the round.

ERISON: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler seems unable to jab in the orthodox stance

GUYSTA: 10-9 Leonard
Hagler starts off with a nice left and then a good jab and looks to continue to control the fight. Ray than lands a nice counter. Ray then lands a nice combo to the body, but Hagler counters it with a beautiful left. It seems to disuade Leonard from trying that again that round. For the rest of the first minute and some change, Hagler goes to the body and controls the round. But for some ungodly reason, he completely goes away from the body for the rest of the round and throws a bunch of wild shots at Leonard's head missing horribly. Leonard is countering and throwing nice combos and getting out of harms way in the meantime and comes out of the round looking much better than he had in the previous round.

FIGHTFANATIC:

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard almost let that rd slip away, it was his to lose, and Hagler was too late in applying pressure on Leonard and overwhelming him.

RASTA666: 10-9 Leonard
This one to Leonard, he simply landed more w/o fighting.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard uses his jab, speed and combos to counter-act the inside game of Hagler. Marvin has little success whenever he gets close to Sugar Ray. Leonard parrying his best efforts.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 7

Post by the13r »

ImageImage

Round 7 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 7 part1 and part 2
ImageImage

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard looking tired. Hagler still finding Leonard a difficult target but he was consistent in his work while Leonard worked in spurts.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler
Another big round for Marvin imo, Lots of clean punched for Marvin,Ray's not running soo fast anymore

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard is looking tired but bouncy. He fights in spurts and is effective with it. Hagler is very workmanlike. He's catching up to Ray and putting hurtful punches on him. Shots to the head and the body seem to be slowing Ray. Decent round for either man, but Hagler lands more this time around and Ray isn't ten miles away from him.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Hagler

Hagler found the range frequently, landing more than his opponent, Hagler's workrate is good going to the body and head, good round for both but Hagler finishes strong.

ERISON: 10-9 Hagler
Landing telling blows and slowing Leonard down

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler's body attack from early on seems to have really taken a toll on Leonard. He is beating him up good this round. Leonard can't keep him off of him. But Hagler doesn't throw as much as he probably should have. From the way SRL looked in this round, it could have been the end of the night for SRL if Hagler would have been balls out. As it was, Hagler still beat him up pretty good. SRL tried some bullshit showboating, but he really didn't land shit while he was doing it and Hagler was still up in his face the entire round and landed way more clean punches.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
this round wasn?t even close. Mmh dominated early and srl tried to steal it with flashy shots towards the end but the cleaner more effective and more powerful shots were landed by hagler. Srl looked extremely tired and was caught on the ropes too much and didn?t move well in this round. Easily mmh?s best round thus far.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard looks like hes taking a rest, and Hagler is taking advantage of it.
Kept a steady pace and did more this rd.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler as he looks to start finding the range. Leonard looks spent.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Hagler

Closest round of the fight, bar the third. Hagler neutralizes Ray's jab, and lands some nice shots throughout the round. Leonard is probably throwing more but most of his offence is parried by a tightened-up Hagler guard. Hagler's slickness, and bigger blows carry him through the round I think.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 8

Post by the13r »

Round 8 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 8
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler
Nothing special or flashy, but cnsistent steady work from Hagler takes the round.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler
Another close round, I think HAgler landed the cleaner pounches, Couldnt argue a Leonard round here really

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Hagler
Ray still trying to bounce and is running, but every so often Hagler pops him a good one from range. In close Hagler is using an elbow and hooking the shit out of Ray's body. Ray can't squirm away and Hagler plugs forward working steadily behind a stiff right jab stopping for body shots. Ray does some one twos and moves. Hagler says "hello" at the ropes. Leonard picks up the pace and pot shots. Again, in close Hagler works hard to the gut. Hagler working hard on the ropes, Ray slips and counters just a bit. Ray looked a little wilted this round. Hagler kept plodding forward like a little dumptruck doing his damage. Hagler.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Leonard

Again, Hagler jabbing good and nice body-head combos, Leonard's best fighting comes in the second half of the fight dominating a tired Hagler, close round but Leonard edges it.

ERISON: 10-9 Hagler
Marvin doing good work to the body

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler
Another round of Hagler beating him up good. He is landing HARD right jabs and body shots. Leonard does some good posturting in this round to keep Hagler from selling out though. He lands a few potshots, but they just aren't enough to stop the onslaught by Hagler. SRL looks TIRED!

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler 10-9: this style vs. substance. Hagler controlled the most of the round and although Leonard got in some very nice quick rights and put together some impressive combinations, that looked pretty, hagler worked the body and landed the harder shots and did it all round long not just in spots.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler again just busier, and doing more than Ray and landing the better shots.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler
He just followed up from 7 and Leonard took the round off.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Hagler

Hagler lands to the body nicely throughout the round. Leonard is head-hunting but landing mostly on Hagler's forearms. Hagler is far more aggresive.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 9

Post by the13r »

ImageImage

Round 9 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 9
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Leonard
Very tough round to score. Leonard looks good early, but then looks fatigued as Hagler pours on the pressure. Hagler seems to be controlling the round with pressure but not really landing anything clean. Leanard fights back in bursts and lands clean hard combinations in retaliation. Very tight round, but Leonard bursts nick it for him as both look arm weary at the end.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler
Impressive round by both, Ray had the nice flurries, But Hagler dominated the other 2:15 of the round

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Leonard

They start out trading here and there. Leonard is getting in the cleaner shots. On the inside it looks like Hagler's punches are slower. Leonard is crisp. Hagler is trying to work on the ropes, but Leonard slips some. Now Hagler is turning up the heat, wow here comes Leonard fighting off the ropes. They meet in the center of the ring and Leonoard lets him have it- again at the ropes! Hagler bulls him to the ropes again but seems to tired to make anything of it. Ray gets to look sensational with rapid fire flurries. 30 secs to go. They both seem weary now, Hagler moreso. Wow here comes Ray with another stinging flurry. I have to give this to Leonard. He out hustled and out willed Hagler that round. Fantastic Queen Latifah CoverGirl commercial- I'm pumped and lucious for round 10...

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard scoring combos after combos, very fast hands, but Hagler had his moments, mauling Leonard halfway but Leonard comes back scoring with the best effective combos I have ever seen, Hagler is not letting up but Leonard's magnificent combos makes him win rounds.

ERISON: 10-10 Even
both guys had their best round, SRL boxed beautifully, Hagler brawled beautifully

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler
It seems Leonard got his second wind in this round. He throws some crazy fast combos.....he just can't hurt Hagler! Hagler keeps coming forward and punching too. Leonard throws 3-4 punches and Hagler comes back with 5-6. The difference in handspeed is outragous for Leonard though. In the end, Hagler NEVER STOPPED THROWING the entire round and landed more clean punches while Leonard was trying to recoup for another one of his nasty combos. It was the best round of the fight imo. And the combos by Leonard, coupled by the crowd, could have led one to think Leonard won the round. But I felt Hagler's persistance and constant punching paved the way.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
this was a close round early. Both men were exhausted and showed a ton of heart in this round. i though Leonard made the mistake of trying to trade with hagler and sat on the ropes far too much. His combinations were largely just flash and were caught by the gloves of hagler. Very entertaining round but the effectiveness was all haglers.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
WOOOHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! The hand speed by Leonard(combos!!)!! The precision power punching done by Hagler..GREAT RD!!!
Haglers hits did more damage in that one.

RASTA666: 10-9 Leonard
This was the toughest to score. I gave it to Leonard this time but if I watch this fight next week it could go to Hagler.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Hagler
A brawl of a round. Both men throwing many nice bombs. Whereas Leonard threw intermittent quickfire combos, Hagler consistently threw and landed throughout the round. Leonard's work was eye-catching but it neither hurt nor deterred Hagler from coming forward. Hagler landed more accurately and consistently.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 10

Post by the13r »

Round 10 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 10
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler
Lots of missed punches by both men. Leonard lands some eye catching punches but Haglers steadier pressure earns him the round.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Leonard
Good round for Ray,more active than the past rounds, landed far more shots than Marvin, Hagler really slow this round

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Hagler
Messy start. Leonard lands a straight shot. He's back to gliding. Hagler throws a series of mean hooks and some land- now straights to the head. Leonard throws a stiff shot at the ropes and glides away. Hagler follows. They get to the ropes again but Leonard swerves away. Ooo in a clinch Hagler lets Ray have it in uppercuts. Ray showboats and earns a sweeping hard right for his troubles. They're both tired but Hagler is putting more hurt on Ray right up to the bell. Hagler did more damage even if Ray looked busier in spots.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard had heavy hands in the 10th, Hagler profiting on that, close round once again but scored it for Hagler for effective uppercuts on the inside while in the clinch.

ERISON: 10-9 Hagler
Hagler is great when in close, landing good hooks and uppercuts

GUYSTA: 10-10 Even
Hardest round of the fight to score imo. Both fighters landed great shots and it was the only time where it appeared Leonards punches were effecting Hagler as much as Haglers were effecting Leonard. It is amazing to see Hagler throw so many damn punches! The guy never stops!

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Hagler
Goodness I cant decide who won this round. srl had his moments (see 1:23) and hagler persisted and stayed busier while ray fought in spots. Neither were wildly effective in this round. but I`ll call it Hagler 10-9 for pressuring and staying busier. Either way nothing definitive.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler
Consistent attack won Hagler the rd. Leonard had his moments, but Haglers pressure had him more on the defensive.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler
Leonard fighting as if he knows he has the judges. Hagler fighting as if he knows this also now.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Leonard
Leonard wins this one, but makes it hard for himself. Hagler still marauding forward, but Leonard landing the crisper, cleaner blows.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 11

Round 11 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 11
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Leonard

Hagler slow to oull trigger on his punches as Leonard can see finish line in sight and lands nice flurries and looks confident. Leonard appears in control at this point.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Leonard

Much like the last round for Ray, Hagler chaces him all round and gets tagged over and over

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Leonard

Ray seems so tired, Hagler too, but starting out Hagler huffs and puffs and gets in some hard work. Hagler continues to follow and throw. No answer from Ray yet. Ray throws a lazy combo, Hagler drapes on him. Half way point. Hagler getting in mean shots on the ropes. Ray throws a super flurry of light shots and slides away. Now Ray taunts and pot shots. Ray lands a sharp 1-2. Hagler smacks the shit out of him. 20 seconds. Ray throws flashy, Hagler lands hard uppercut. Tough round. Do you like Ray's flash or Hagler's pressing? I think Ray may have out hustled Hagler in that round with more landed shots even though they do less damage.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Leonard

Leonard is back at his right-left hook combo that has been effective throughout the fight, Leonard slightly wobbled Hagler in this round, Leonard was effective once again in the second half of the fight, strong finish by Hagler but Sugar was spectacular.

ERISON: 10-9 Leonard

Leonard's movement bothers Hagler, he's following

GUYSTA: 10-9 Leonard

Great round for Leonard. He is consistantly beating Hagler to the punch in this round and throwing some GREAT combos for this late in the fight and his looking like a beaten soldier just a few rounds earlier. Hagler is the one who looks tired in this round and he can't cut the ring of because of it. Easy round to score for Leonard imo

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Leonard

srl dominated the tempo and spacing and looked refreshed in this round. hagler could not get off in this round. srl`s speed was a major factor in this round.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Leonard

leonard made him miss and hit him w/ some good shots, tried to put on a show in that one but Hagler never let him.

RASTA666: 10-9 Leonard

Leonard controls this round on all levels and is cocky doing it.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Hagler

Leonard is faster for sure. But unsuccesfully. Hagler's defence is terrific in this round, parrying most of Leonard's best work. Marvin's inside work is equally impressive - outgunning the handspeed of SRL.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS FOR ROUND 12

Post by the13r »

Round 12 revisited by the 10 TTR judges:

Marvelous Marvin Hagler Vs Sugar Ray Leonard round 12
Image

LURKYSHAKA: 10-9 Hagler

Tight round. leonard landed eye catching bursts and showboated but Hagler that bit busier throughout. Hagler takes the round.

BIZKIT: 10-9 Hagler

Landed good punches, Ray had 1 1/2 Flurris, then ran the rest of the round

LAGAIDH: 10-9 Hagler

Hagler starts us off with a hard hook. Ray throws a light combo and runs. Hagler is forced to follow and Ray pops him on the way in. Hagler mauls with some body hooks. Ray talks and moves. Ray throws a light combo. Hagler lands a couple left hooks but misses a third. Hagler traps Ray on the ropes, Ray throws a flurry and runs. Ray is just running now, he thinks he's already won. Halfway mark. Clinch. Hagler gets him to the ropes again but can't leave his mark on Ray. Ray throws a pot shot and runs. Clinch and Hagler hammers the ribs. He works the head. Ray explodes with a combo and runs. On the ropes again, Hagler trying to work the body no oomph to his shots. Ray is the same way and reels with exhaustion. Hagler presses- BELL! I give this round to Hagler. He tried to make the fight and when he landed it was more damaging. Ray was laying the blueprint for Oscar de la Hoya's last three rounds versus Tito Trinidad.

QUICKSLICK: 10-9 Leonard

Now this is where Leonard nailed this fight, controlling the jab, moving well from side to side, Hagler confused Ray for a moment by switching from Orthodox to southpaw, the best combo of the fight really nailed the victory for Sugar, an 18-punch combo plus another 6-punch combo makes him look good, Leonard fought his heart and soul in this round and I can't see how I could've scored that for Hagler.

ERISON: 10-9 Leonard

Hagler couldn't deal with Leonard's footwork, too slow

GUYSTA: 10-9 Hagler

Don't know what the fuck the announcers are talking about and certainly don't know what the fuck SRL is doing giving the round away!?! Hagler is coming forward and trying to engage, but Leonard is running. He tries to stop a few times to get off some shots, but Hagler is more than ready and gets the better of most of these occassions. SRL gave the round away.......and didn't even consider trying to win it.

FIGHTFANATIC: 10-9 Leonard

man from 1:40-1:30 srl ran. That said I still thought his flurries here were enough to pull out the round because hagler was not able to find srl at all in this round.

CEELOWSBACK: 10-9 Hagler

Like many in this fight...close rd. Hagler kept the pressure and was fighting 'till the final bell.

Ray's amazing brusts were'nt enough IMO.

RASTA666: 10-9 Hagler

Hagler in a last ditch effort to close.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 10-9 Leonard

Leonard by a whisker. Applying the hit-and-run-away strategy would have worked better for Leonard had he adopted it for the entire match. He won this round by landing the cleaner shots on the outside and out-pacing Hagler when trapped on the ropes. Hagler's defence had nullyfied Leonard's handspeed for most of the middle rounds, but Leonard this time wasn't there to be hit.

TTR JUDGES SCORECARDS AND CONCLUSIONS

Post by the13r »

Here are the conclusions of our 10 TTR judges following their scoring of each round of the fight.

LURKYSHAKA: Totals 114-114......a Draw

Summary.....I think it was a razor close fight which could have gone either way. Hagler did the steadier work throughout the fight but was unimpressive and ineffective for large portions of the bout. While Leonard was patchy in his efforts but very impressive in bursts.
Many rounds tough to score as Hagler was generally more consistent, but Leonard more accurate and landing the cleaner shots in spells. Hagler steady but lacking in accuracy while Leonard picked his spots to to be effective.
Ring generalship a key area and hard to pick a boss in this department, Hagler kept pressing but was controlled in parts and fell for Leonards trickery at times. Leonard was tired at times, but he hid it with double bluffs where he pretended to be exausted to fool Hagler into thinking he was playing possum. Leonard in these moments was truly knackered but he kidded Hagler out of taking advantage. Ultimately Leonard got into Haglers head in the fight and fooled him.
A solid argument can be made for either man, but i don't think Hagler has a real right to be bitter as he came into the fight with a poor attitude trying to prove some kind of point and Leonard got a solid foothold. The only real black eye was the outrageous 118-110 scorecard.

BIZKIT: 114-114 Draw
Too bad they didnt go 15.

LAGAIDH: 115-113 for Sugar Ray Leonard
7 rounds to 5, 115-113 for Sugar Ray Leonard This is the score and the outcome I come up with most of the time I watch this match. I have scored a draw before, and a 7-5 win for Hagler. But the score I have this time is my most common. Sorry for the novel. Hope you enjoyed it.

QUICKSLICK: Leonard wins 116-112
I like to score effective blows and like to see combos landed and that's what Leonard done throughout the fight, it was not an easy fight to score but it was not the hardest, Sugar moved very well and avoided alot of Hagler's onslaught

ERISON: 116-113 Leonard

GUYSTA: 7 rounds to 4 for Hagler
In the end I had it 7 rounds to 4 for Hagler with one even! I honestly don't remember this fight playing out like this. I always felt it was a lot closer than what I just watched and I actually thought Leonard won it years ago. But watching this fight now, I am convinced Hagler deserved the W. He just outworked the showboating with a great body attack that slowed SRL down to his speed on his feet. Leonard couldn't keep him off of him and when he tried to stop the tide by clinching.......... Hagler never stopped throwing body shots in these clinches. It was almost a shame that the ref stopped the action in these situations because Hagler was still throwing and landing and he wasn't the one holding! There are a few points I would like to make about the shamockery of announcing during this fight. Gil Clancey couldn't even see the fight with SRL balls deep in his mouth! This guy was pushing a SRL upset from the opening bell! They hadn't even thrown a punch and he was questioning Haglers aproach and ballyhooing Leonards "mind games". And how many times did he make the statement "look at how slow Hagler is"........... only to watch Hagler land 2-3 punches within seconds of this bias ass commentating!! And Tim Ryan wasn't much better with his allowing Clancy to change his mind on what he was seeing. Before the tenth round, Tim Ryan made a pretty telling statement about the way he felt the fight was going and the way he wanted it to go. He said "It is going to be hard for the judges to seperate what they admire from this fight from WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING". WTF? This jerkoff then goes on to say he has the fight 5-4-1 for Hagler after the the 10th round, only to say "WE HAVE LEONARD AHEAD" after the 11th! BULLSHIT!!!

FIGHTFANATIC:
This was a fight of substance vs. style. Hagler at times looked slow and ploding and was unable to get off his punches in time. while leonard looked younger and more fluid with his combinations to both the body and head. While most of leonards work was eye catching and impressively fast, hagler worked the body and on inside threw powerful shots. Though not as flashy as Leonard we can see the effectiveness of the punches as Leonard was on his bike early and in the later rounds he clearly did not have the legs he had early on, due in large part to the powerful body work done early on by hagler. So if there is one truth about this fight its that. Hagler had more effect on leonard than leonard did on hagler.

So i have it 6-5 for hagler with one round missing. this could easily be a draw or hagler win. Its a tough fight to call and can see either side. honestly the first time i watched it i had hagler winning. this time i have a draw or win for hagler, so i'm at least somewhat consistant have long held that leonards flash and lack of power were not enough to take Haglers title. So after watching it again i still see hagler with the win or at the very least a draw. so this IMO does qualify as a robbery because hagler sadly lost his belt in this fight.

my father in law always says a man "should have to TAKE the belt from the champ." In this case Ray showed he can hang with Hagler and deserved to be in the ring (even at the higher weight) with the champ, but IMO that's all he did. Showed that he belonged in there, but not that he was better than the champ. I still hold that he did not TAKE the belt from the champ. He was given the belt by the judges.

CEELOWSBACK: 115-113 Hagler

RASTA666: DRAW
Dam its a draw. Leonard did not deserve to leave with the tin. It was closer than I scored it in the past but Leonard imo did not take it.

UNDERWEARTAKER: 115-114 Leonard

ASTOR:
Its interesting to note that TTR judges were pretty much agreeing on all rounds. Most of the time, all judge were agreeing or maybe only one giving the round to the opposite fighter. Only for round 3, Hagler got 7 votes, Leonard 2 and 1 judge scored it a draw; and also round 12, 6 votes for Hagler and 4 votes for Leonard. So probably if some rounds need to be further discussed , it would be these two. This again opens the debate on which aspects of the fight should be tabulated to determine who wins the round.

Wow. Just like I have always said; this fight was f--king close.

Thanks to all the judges.

And Rasta, I kow how you feel about Hagler. I know how you feel about Leonard. I know how you feel about this fight. To admit that you scored it a draw is huge. Very objective and unbiased IMO.

I don't care if people feel that Marvin won. I just don't like when fans continue to claim this fight as one of the biggest robberies in history, that's why I've been on "this mission",lol.

This was a close fight that could've gone either way. That's what I've always believed.

Thanks guys.

hopefully this puts to rest the cries of "robbery".

fact is, it was a close fight and a lot depended on how one scores a fight. I'm a Hagler-fan but imo it seemed like he did nore to lose than he did to win, in that makes any sense. it could've went either way.

Makes total sense, and this is what I always said too. I'm a big Hagler fan too, but he just did not do enough in the fight to win.
I think he figured he could knock SRL out anytime he felt like it, gave away the early rounds, then couldn't catch him and finish him.
Ray fought him at the perfect time....he definitely had slowed after the Mugabi fight.
