De La Hoya vs. John John Molina

Post by Walstan86 »

Not really a controversial fight in need of re-scoring---except maybe just by Harold Lederman, who unaccountably had Molina winning 7 rounds to 5 despite being knocked down in the 1st round and subsequently stinking the joint up with his incessant (shameless) clinching & rabbit-punching (which Lederman deemed "effective aggression." lol). All 3 official judges had De La Hoya winning emphatically. Larry Merchant upon hearing Lederman's final score: "I vehemently disagree...." And why was Lou Duva so angry all the time, spitting nails at his own corner guys? Yelling for no reason. Funny fight. Ugly fight, really. Hard to watch after 4 rounds.
