- Galvan returned to the ring this past July 22 after a 9-year absence by winning a 4-round, split decision over Jeramine Huber.
- Reyes was fighting for the first time since his KO-1 loss to George Sanchez on April 26, 2008.
- On Saturday night, Reyes avenged his earlier loss to Galvan by stopping him in the fifth round of their scheduled six-rounder.
