- The 29-year-old Quaye predicted he would knock Ashie out, that the bout would not go past seven rounds, and that he would end the 'Red Tiger's' career. He went on to say, that if he lost to Ashie, the fans could 'hoot" him.
- Ashie, 37, said he had a "surprise" for the fans.
- The bout, highly anticipated in Ghana, was fought before a capacity crowd at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
- As reported by Sammy Heywood Okine of Boxing Ghana, Ashie gained "the fans support and favour." Although he failed to connect with the majority of his power punches, the ones that did land had an effect on Quaye.
- The bout went past seven rounds and in the eighth, Ashie repeatedly rocked the previously undefeated Quaye and dropped him twice. Quaye's cornermen rushed the beaten and dejected Quaye out of the ring after the second knockdown.

- The 29-year-old Quaye predicted he would knock Ashie out, that the bout would not go past seven rounds, and that he would end the 'Red Tiger's' career. He went on to say, that if he lost to Ashie, the fans could 'hoot" him.
- Ashie, 37, said he had a "surprise" for the fans.
- The bout, highly anticipated in Ghana, was fought before a capacity crowd at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
- As reported by Sammy Heywood Okine of Boxing Ghana, Ashie gained "the fans support and favour." Although he failed to connect with the majority of his power punches, the ones that did land had an effect on Quaye.
- The bout went past seven rounds and in the eighth, Ashie repeatedly rocked the previously undefeated Quaye and dropped him twice. Quaye's cornermen rushed the beaten and dejected Quaye out of the ring after the second knockdown.
