- Abdullaev rallied from a first half points deficit to knock Linares down twice in the 12th round.
- As per TTR founder Antoine Patry DesLauriers, "HARD LOSS for Linares who dominated 1st half Vs Zaur Abdullaev. Linares then IMO hurt his right & got stopped in the 12th!" Antoine also wrote, "Linares dominated the first 2 tiers by controlling distance with footwork and a busy arsenal of punches thrown from the boundary of the pocket. But he stop throwing the right in the last tier and Abdullaev picked up on it and started to dominate with quantity and body work." "Linares got too cocky and started trading in the last round... got caught, dropped, and finished with a flurry."

- In round 3, a more focused Zepeda was determined to bring the bout to an end and did. He knocked the 34-year-old Viedas down twice; the second time resulted in Viedas being counted out.
