- In round 4, after the southpaw Gonzalez scored with a right hook, the two fighters' heads clashed together. The result was a nasty cut on Torres' forehead. The ringside physician examined the wound and allowed the bout to continue.
- When action resumed, Gonzalez went on the attack. Torres, after getting hit, turned his back, and it was over. The referee stopped the bout.
