The fight of the week for me is Philly killer Boots Ennis vs. always game Sergey Lipinets. We've seen how Lipinets faired against Mikey Garcia making this fight a true gauge to see exactly who the Trinidad/Hearns sized welterweight is. I like the kid to stop Lipinets mid fight after some early fireworks from both early on.

Being from Long Island, the fight this week that interests me the most is Joe Smith, Jr. vs. Maxim Vlasov. Ennis-Lipinets is the most interesting of three welterweight bouts in which an unbeaten up-and-comer faces a tough test- the others being Conor Benn vs. Samuel Vargas and Elmantas Stanionis vs. Thomas Dulorme. Benn beat Sebastian Formella, who is ranked higher than Vargas, but he can't afford to take Vargas lightly.

Two lower weight bouts of relative importance are Jerwin Ancajas vs. Jonathan Javier Rodriguez (115) and Tibo Monabesa vs. Tito Landero (108).

If we still had the regular TTR Challenge going, those six bouts would be this week's lineup.

Can't go wrong with Joe Smith and Vlasov seems effective at 175 since moving down. Smith has shown improvements in setting up his power, stepping with the jab and patience in general. Will also look for the return of heavyweight Efa Ajagba who's progress and career seem to have hit a lull and my favorite US heavyweight prospect Jared Anderson. Nice little card for ESPN.
