Re: STRAWWEIGHTS/MINIMUMWEIGHTS/MINI FLYWEIGHTS
Paipharob was stripped of his WBA interim title (since won by Jesus Silvestre) but is still ranked by The Ring and the WBO and, for some unknown reason, is still listed as "N/A- WBA" by the WBC.
He last fought last November (beating Silvestre for the then vacant interim title) and basically has until this November to remain in the ratings. If he is really serious about being a monk and hasn't fought by then, he'll be dropped.
Paipharob also has pressing legal problems. On January 8 of this year, he was arrested in Thailand on suspicion of trafficking "Yaba", a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine. His resultant inability to defend his interim title is what led the WBA to strip him of it in May. Those legal problems may also continue to keep him sidelined.
No matter what the reason, if he doesn't fight by 11/7/12, he'll be dropped from our rankings because of prolonged inactivity.
9/5 edit: Paipharob, who had been ranked #10 by The Ring, was dropped from their top ten this week to make room for Mario Rodriguez.
9/21 edit: Paipharob returned to the ring 9/13 and won by UD 12 over Wang Xin Hua to win the vacant WBC ABCO Continental flyweight title. He'll also be fighting at 108 in the near future.
