TTR RANKINGS:
TTR first instituted its own ratings in 2006 with a poll that ran from October 4 to December 25 of that year. We switched to the much more efficient system of members submitting top ten lists with our rankings through February 25, 2007.
We added Pound for Pound ratings with the rankings through September 1, 2007.
We continued to use members' top ten lists for both the divisional and P4P rankings through June 16, 2011.
While the members' top ten lists are still used for the P4P rankings, we've relied solely on my divisional ratings for the rankings through July 28, 2011 and August 16, 2011. That was because of time restraints and because of the great number of lists that had not been updated.
I would like to institute two changes. One) I'd like to keep our ratings more up-to-date. The Ring updates their ratings on a weekly basis. That may be a bit much but I would like to update our ratings every other week. Two) I'd like to go back to the members' top ten lists being used. The divisional ratings through September 1 will be mine but I'm hoping that between September 2 and September 15, those who want to participate will either update their existing lists or submit new ones.
Unlike in the past when lists were not deleted until they had not been updated for over 90 days, lists will have to remain current or will be deleted at the time new rankings are compiled.
DBO provides the divisional rankings for secondsout.com. I've enjoyed using my rankings the last two rankings periods. It's a lot easier than compiling our rankings from other posters' lists when many, if not most, of those lists are outdated. In the past (prior to our rankings through July 28, 2011), I've often tried to salvage lists that needed to be updated rather than delete them. It literally took me years to realize what a monumental waste of time that was. If a member is not interested enough in keeping his or her ratings up-to-date, then that member's ratings won't be used. End of issue.
So, if you want to participate, you're more than welcome to but be aware, you must keep your lists current or those lists will be deleted. It's the only feasible way for this to work.
