1997- The Nevada Athletic Commission revokes Mike Tyson’s boxing license and fines him $3-million for twice biting WBA heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield on the ears during their 6/28/19997 bout in Las Vegas. Tyson can reapply for his license one year from that date.

1998- A federal jury in New York City acquits promoter Don King, 66, of all charges at his second insurance fraud trial.

1980- Sebastian Sylvester (born in Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)
Sylvester is a German boxer and former IBF middleweight champion.
On 2 November 2008, Felix Sturm retained his WBA middleweight title via unanimous decision (118-110, 118-110 and 119-109) over Sylvester. He improved to 31-2, with one draw, while Sylvester fell to 31-3.
He won the vacant IBF middleweight champion title by beating Giovanni Lorenzo on September 19, 2009 by split decision. He defended the title successfully three times before losing it by split decision to Daniel Geale on May 7, 2011.

Nice. The majority of the fights within the past 30 years you have listed I watched live on TV. I remember Buddy McGirt saying that Baltazar hit him so hard that it took him until 5 or 6 round to remember who his opponent was. I also remember seeing the Rosario vs Tony Jones fight. I was at Julian Jackson's last fight in May of 1998 at the Palace and he was fighting Tony Jones and in the back of my mind, I kept thinking if Rosario KO'ed Jones with one punch Jackson should crush him. However, Jackson was so badly faded that he merely stunned Jones when he landed his left hooks. Thankfully Jackson called it quits after that fight.
