And this is the third of the three threads which I think will fit in well in the Old School section.

I'll try, over the next few weeks or so, to complete the project FightFanAL began.

Woo I cant believe you and I forget Burley  I should have also included Moore in mine. Funny how when you revisit these things how you realize who you missed. A little shocking to me how low Gans and Langford are on some peoples lists.

As great as Burley was, some rate him in the top ten of all-time, I'm not sure exactly where he fits in. I have him on my Honorable Mention list but that might be too low. I still have to complete my own top 20 (two spots to go) before trying to compile TTR's.

Joe Louis
Muhammad Ali
Willie Pep
Roberto Duran
Benny Leonard
Marvin Hagler
Sam Langford
The fighters he's beaten aren't even household names in their own household.

I tend to overlook people on every list. I should take more time to do these things. Their are several others I could have put in. The second guessing always gets to me afterward.

This project was started by FightFanAL in July 2009. In May of this year, I volunteered to finish the work he started. I finally did tonight. I would have preferred if no active fighters had been included. I didn't include any on my list mainly because, in my opinion, you need time to reflect on a fighter's career. Where he and his opponents fit in historically is usually best assessed after the fighter has been retired for a minimum of five years. Be that as it may, there were no stipulations to exclude active fighters.
