“Moderns” enshrined 1990 to 2014 were elected under original criteria:
Last bout no earlier than 1943.

Beginning in the the election of the Class of 2015,”Moderns” were elected

“Old Timers” enshrined 1990 to 2014 were elected under original criteria:
Last bout no earlier than 1893: no later than 1942.

In the election of the Class of 2015, “Old Timers” was extended
to 1988 (1893-1988). The Old Timer category is divided into two different eras.

“Early” era - Last bout no earlier than 1893; no later than 1942

and

“Late” era - Last bout no earlier than 1943; no later than 1988.

Election takes place on an annual basis, alternating the two different eras,
beginning with the “Late” era ballot.
