Re: Fantasy Matchup: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Julio Cesar Chavez Sr

Castillo did really well in 2 fights agaisnt floyd though .. surely chavez is better than jlc? I don't know for sure that he is actually. At any rate his style doesn't exactly resemble JLC's. I think JLC has the perfect, kinda awkward aggressive style to give Floyd fits. Chavez is similar, but not ...

Re: Fantasy Boxing Matchup: GGG vs Toney

Toney would probably be able to win, but this would be a tough bout for him.

A tough ask for me too because you're talking about two of my absolute favorites here.

Re: Of course Mike Tyson should never fight as a pro again. But he might get offers to do so.

Tyson is indeed one of the biggest names in sports history. Period. I don't even rank him in the top 5 greatest heavyweights ever (top 10, maybe). But his storied career, his spectacular style, his power, his behavior in and out of the ring, all made him a massive superstar and household name. He's...

Re: Hearn: Boxers' Purses Completely Out Of Control; Part My Fault, DAZN's Fault

A guy shouldn't be paid multiple millions for fighting a no hoper?

Wow, it's almost like he's saying something that we all thought all along.

Re: Of course Mike Tyson should never fight as a pro again. But he might get offers to do so.

I'll just be glad when something is actually official one way or the other with him. Seems like there's a new rumored opponent, and outlet who's interested in putting it on on a day to day basis. Just shows how popular Tyson still is. He's one of the biggest superstars in the history of the sport s...

Re: Of course Mike Tyson should never fight as a pro again. But he might get offers to do so.

Supposedly Tito Ortiz has been contacted about a potential fight with Tyson.

Assuming it'd take place in a Boxing ring this could be a shrewd move on Tyson or Tyson's managements part.

Take on a guy with a reputation, but at a sport where his best assets won't shine.

Re: Fantasy Boxing Matchup: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Juan Manuel Marquez

Lomachenko might just have the speed and movement to avoid Marquez's more powerful counters. Marquez shines best against come forward aggressors who give him plenty of countering opportunities. While Lomachenko certainly doesn't shy away from attacking, he doesn't just stand right in front of you, a...

I can't imagine he'd get 10 fucking Million to not fight, and just step aside. Maybe $500,000 or something like that tops. I mean what's the most anybody has ever made to step aside, and allow a fight to happen?

I know it's nowhere near 10 Mil

Re: Is There A Bigger Bum In Boxing?

Didn't he also kill Max Kellerman's brother? Ya Max was a big fan of him getting a second chance and somehow if not mistaken Max was an integral part of befriending Butler and introducing him to his brother. I could see how something that horrible would taint all of Boxing for you. I'm glad that it...

Re: Fantasy matchup: Hearns vs Trinidad

I feel like Tommy wins this fight more often than not. Obviously Tito is a big enough puncher that you can't count him out, but Hearns is an even bigger puncher, and is a far superior boxer. As long as he doesn't fight foolishly, and uses the best of his abilities, I honestly think Hearns should be ...

Re: McGregor vs De la Hoya now boxing

At this point yes. If they were both in their prime, absolutely not. But Conor is 31 years old, still an active participant in Combat sports, and still more or less in his physical fighting prime. Oscar is 47 years old. Has been retired for 12 years, and has probably indulged a whole lot on various ...

Re: McGregor vs De la Hoya now boxing

Oscar is the one that made the challenge in the first place. It's gonna be funny to me when he's the one that backs out on his own challenge . Today Oscar De La Hoya: "For the record: McGregor, I never challenged you. I was just asked a question and I simply spoke the truth..."   :l...

Re: McGregor vs De la Hoya now boxing

Yeah I woudn't be surprised if it were a catchweight of 165 or whatever.

I'll be more surprised if Oscar actually goes through with it. To me it's gonna be funny when he backs out on his own challenge because he realized he was talking out of his ass.

Probably drunk or something when he said it.

Re: McGregor vs De la Hoya now boxing

You know what will make this funny? Conor would be the A-side. Lol And I think he'd win. That's why Oscar will back out of it. I think Conor would win too. Better yet, what weight would it be at? They might do a catchweight or something, but if they're shooting for a traditional weight class it'd p...

Re: Mike Tyson coming back for exhibition bouts for charity?

Mike Tyson is living off of who he was in the 1980's. His losses in 2004 and 2006 didn't hurt his brand. Why would a loss when he's 53 hurt his brand?

Hell even if it did, is his "brand" gonna be making him 20 Million dollars in the next 5 or 10 years?

Re: Mike Tyson coming back for exhibition bouts for charity?

Heard hes been offered $20mill to fight in the bareknuckle circuit He’s 53 years old, but depending on how much money he currently has, he really has to sit down and think about that offer. I hope he’s doing well financially and doesn’t have to take the fight, but 20MIL is just so much damn money.....
