ShowXC Results
Jared Hamman submitted Tito Ortiz`s training partner, Aaron Rosa, in the night`s main event, but the Oct. 26 edition of EliteXC`s "ShowXC" broadcast may best be remembered as the night Javier "Showtime" Vazquez retired from the sport.

Moments after delivering JC Pennington a quick, 75-second submission loss via rear-naked choke, Vazquez (12-2) announced his retirement after a decade in the sport. The announcement came as a shock to the thousands in attendance at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, Calif., and the thousands more watching the event live on Showtime.

It also caught EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw off guard.

"This came as an absolute surprise"
Shaw stated in a post-fight release.
"I had no clue that he was even considering retiring. I give Vazquez a lot of credit for doing what he feels is right for the good of the sport."
Vazquez, though, won?t disappear from the sport completely.

"I am better suited as a coach than I am as a fighter"
said Vazquez, who fought twice in 2007 after a three-year layoff. "When the sport feels like it`s a job and you`re clocking in, then it`s time to go."

In addition to Hamman and Vazquez, Malaipet MTA used three rounds of brutal leg and body kicks to score a unanimous decision over Kaleo Kwan. Additionally, Shayna Baszler, one of MMA`s top female fighters, quickly disposed of Muay Thai fighter Jennifer Tate (from "Fight Girls" fame) with a 44-second armbar submission victory.

It was a decent show, better then the first one in my opinion but still has a long way to go. To me the show is a notch or two below the UFC's fight nights. The show's production and the fighters don't seem to be on the same level as the UFC's.
