2016 IN REVIEW- The Flyweights

By the end of 2016, three of the flyweight division's champions had vacated their titles and moved up to the junior bantamweight class. Lineal, WBC, and Ring Magazine champion Roman Gonzalez won the WBC super flyweight title in September, WBO and WBA Unified champion Juan Francisco Estrada won in his official junior bantamweight debut in October, and IBF champion John Riel Casimero announced his plans to campaign at 115 in December. Of the titles vacated, only one, the WBO's, has been filled so far.
