During the three-day period of Friday, September 9, 2016 through Sunday, September 11, 2016, thirteen boxers ranked by the participating members of TTR as being among the best currently fighting in their respective divisions were in action. Eleven, Eduard Troyanovsky, Jorge Sebastian Heiland, Robert Easter, Jr., Daniel Jacobs, Callum Smith, John Riel Casimero, Lee Haskins, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, Raymundo Beltran, Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, and Genesis Servania, added victories to their slates while two, Kell Brook and Carlos Cuadras, suffered defeats.

In addition, Yoshihiro Kamegai and Andy Ruiz, Jr. won bouts featuring fighters not currently ranked by TTR which may impact TTR's rankings in the near future.

- IBF mandatory challenger Obara, who came into the bout ranked #13 by the IBO, rocked Troyanovsky in the first round but was knocked completely out of the ring in the second. He recovered only to be met with a fusillade of punches when action resumed. Referee Michael Ortega then rescued Obara from further punishment.
