- In the fifth round, Ceja landed a right hand followed by a perfectly timed left hook which dropped Ruiz to the canvas. After action resumed, Ceja pummeled Ruiz, sending him into a corner where the ropes prevented the badly hurt Ruiz from going down again. At that point, referee Raul Caiz, Sr. wisely stopped the bout.
