It should be noted that the "Transnationals" still recognize Danny Garcia as the lineal world junior welterweight champion. It certainly appears that Garcia has left the division permanently and intends to campaign solely as a welterweight. While that could be interpreted that he has abdicated the junior welterweight throne, the prevailing opinion is to wait until a board member asks him directly whether or not he intends to vacate the lineal throne.

It should be noted that Garcia has relinquished the WBC world super lightweight title and that, as of today, The Ring lists its world junior welterweight title as vacant. The WBA's most recent ratings, those published July 8, list Garcia as the WBA's "Super Champion" at 140.
