During the three-day period of Sunday, May 31 through Tuesday, June 2, two fighters ranked by the participating members of TTR as being among the best in their weight class were in action. Both, Ryuji Hara and Wanheng Menayothin, won by knockout.

- Hara weighed in at 110 1/4; Sor Sakulwong at 110.
- Hara was victimized by a flash knockdown in the first round but bounced back to knock out Sor Sakulwong with left hand shots to the body in the second.

- Menayothin was originally slated to defend against Young Kil Bae (Myung Goo Yuh; WBC #13 at 105; WBA #13, IBF #15- both at 112; 26-4-1, 21 KOs).
- Menayothin KOed late substitute Tomogdan with a vicious left hook to the body.
- This was Menayothin's second successful world title defense.
