On Thursday, November 6, TTR's then #4 and #5 ranked strawweights, Wanheng Menayothin and Oswaldo Novoa, fought a Fight Of The Year candidate in Chonburi, Thailand.

WBC World Strawweight Title-

Wanheng Menayothin (WBC #1, WBO #1, TTR #4, TBRBoard #4, The Ring #4; 36-0, 12 KOs)
TKO-9 3:00
Champion Oswaldo Novoa (TTR #5, TBRBoard #6, The Ring #7; 14-5-1, 9 KOs)

- After eight rounds, the scores for this hard-fought bout were 76-76, 77-75 for Menayothin, and an eyebrow-raising 79-73 for Menayothin.
- Novoa was visibly hurt in the ninth round and could not continue after the round's completion.

- As per Antoine Patry DesLauriers:
"Wanheng didn't take the easy way. He could've boxed Novoa from distance but went toe to toe. It was a bold gameplan but he proved lots beating Novoa at his own game. The fight was spectacular, fought on the inside with Novoa throwing quantity in combos amd with Wanheng landing precise straight rights and hooks to rock Novoa in 2 different rounds. Seemed like Novoa did all he could in the 2nd tier and it wasn't enough to break Wanheng. Wanheng rocked Novoa in the ropes in round 9. Novoa's legs looked gone and he quit after the round."
