Mark de Mori to Defend WBU Title on September 20
Mark de Mori won the World Boxing Union (Germany-based version) world heavyweight title by stopping overmatched veteran Adnan Buharalija in six rounds on May 17, 2013.

De Mori, nicknamed "The Dominator", successfully defended the WBU title and won the vacant World Boxing Foundation world title (previously held by Lucas Browne) by unanimously outpointing Ivica Perkovic on November 16, 2013.

The WBU would later bestow emeritus champion status on de Mori and sanction the May 3, 2014 bout between Ratko Draskovic and Peter Hegyes for their vacant world title. Draskovic knocked out Hegyes in the second round.

Twenty days after Draskovic's victory, de Mori stayed active with a 4-round TKO over Buharalija in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds but not advertised as being for a title.

The WBU has since changed Draskovic's status to emeritus champion and restored their world title to de Mori. De Mori (WBA #11, WBC #17; 26-1-2, 23 KOs) is now scheduled to defend the WBU belt against World Boxing Foundation world cruiserweight champion Marino Goles (16-1, 14 KOs) on September 20 in Holzminden, Niedersachsen, Germany.

Goles last fought on May 10 of this year, losing by a three-round TKO to defending Global Boxing Union world heavyweight champion Alexander Petkovic.

Among the fighters competing on the undercard will be two female stars, Nikki Adler and Natalia Smirnova.

Ms. Adler (12-0, 7 KOs) holds the WBC, World Boxing Federation, World Boxing Union (Germany-based Version), and Women's International Boxing Association (WIBA) female world super middleweight titles. She is slated to take on Borbala Kocsis (8-8, 1 KO).

Ms. Smirnova (8-0, 5 KOs), the Universal Boxing Organization, WBU (Germany-based version), and WIBA female world super featherweight champion, is scheduled to face Nevenka Mikulic (4-2-1, 3 KOs).
