I figure Dirrell stops Douglin somewhere in the middle of the fight.

Dirrell very inactive with only one win per year in the last 4 yrs. Friday vs Douglin would be his second win in 2017.

His only loss was to Badou and by MD
Image

He has lots of good wins on his record like vs gatekeepers in St-Juste, Mouton, Rubio and Hanshaw
Also recently stopped Truax in 1

Douglin could surprise if Dirrell is off... he brings quantity and is a warrior.

Its seems to be a pattern with biological brothers in pro Boxing. One of the guys careers seems to always be significantly better than the other brothers. Anthony and Andre Dirrell is a prime example). Andre Dirrell is wasted talent. Lamont and Anthony Peterson is another example. Younger Peterson brother fell off quick.

I think Anthony is gonna stop Douglin. Douglin is a decent fighter, but has never been able to cut it at this level, and has been stopped in 4 of his 5 losses. Dirrell is better than some of the guys that have beaten him I'd say, and they're fighting in Flint. Dirrell's backyard. So...unless he really fights like absolute shit he's got this.

Ryan Karl is usually always good fun. They're trying to build him back up. I'd like to see him fight Baranchyk. I pitched this fight to him on Twitter, and he was down

Clark on the undercard will try to follow his controversial win of Golub in his last fight. It was a pretty big step up for him. Stepping up showed he could be hurt and can whip his shots ...
Image

but he is a good grinder from the pocket boundary... It will be interesting to see if he can impose his left hand on Dolton.

Last time Dolton fought similar prospects like Clark was in 2016 where he loss to DeLoach 15-1 and drew vs Molina 13-0.

He then fought two easy fights in 2017 to set up this fight. He is a Kronk fighter who still looks talented enough to give Clark a good fight. Both have been in close fights in their toughest tests so should be interesting.

Ryan Karl picked up his first career loss in his 2nd to last fight vs Eddie Ramirez 15-0. He then came back to win in his last fight vs Velasquez. Ryan Cowboy Karl has shown some entertaining skills so far. He has been a very offensive oriented stalker that leaves no window for his opponents to generate anything. Kid can pile up the hurt in entertaining fashion. Since he is ALL offense, he can get in brawls not respecting his opponents... he is relatively easy to hit with his chin exposed... i've seen him go down from flush counters.

His opponent Kareem Martin 9-1-1 only has one similar opponent, Grayton 14-1 who he loss against in the final (8th) round of their bout by stoppage. Martin likes to fight slightly out of the pocket boundary and get counters in or generate offense with burst and explosive tactics. he has a similar style to Berto.

Karl will have to constantly work which he can do.... He'll need to close the distance, cut the ring and be busier... That will force Martin to shell under pressure and be outworked.

Martin who will try to stay at distance and make hem count needs to land a big counter early to gain respect and shake Karl's confidence.

Martin is giving Karl a lot of problems early. Showing a good, tight defense, and landing some heavy counters on Karl. He shook the cowboy up a few times in the early going.

2nd round was closer. Karl is cut on his forehead after I believe a clash of heads. I think Martin may be bleeding also, but I"m not sure. Karl is still having problems, but he was able to get himself into the fight a little more in the 2nd round. I'd still give it to Martin though.

2-0 Martin

Better rounds for Karl in round 3 and 4. Martin is looking a bit fatigued already in the 4th.

Karl's fighting a lot smarter now. Using his jab, and movement more effectively, and not throwing the wide power shots that were getting him countered earlier.

4-2 Karl

Karl had him a little wobbly there at the end. A good turnaround after a shaky start. He should get the W here.

78-74 Ryan Karl is my final score

I expected Karl to have learned a little more from his defeat... he is a no step back entertaining type of fighter but he is still way too easy to hit and shake... the early rounds were scary if i'm in his corner

Yeah. I don't think he's gonna go too much further than this level unless he makes some serious improvements.

The rangy jab and straight left of Jamontay Clark is giving Dolton a lot of problems. He may be able to adjust, and get inside, but he's having problems in the early going.

Clark is still getting the better of the action, but he's foolishly getting close, and trading power shots on the inside with Dolton. Seems like a recipe for disaster. We'll see if he pays for it or not.

A very severe cut is opened over Clark's eye as a result of an accidental headbutt. They've completed the 4th round so it may wind up going to a Technical Decision. It's a pretty bad cut so I won't be surprised if they stop it as a result. I thought Dolton got the edge in the 4th round.

I thought Dolton took the 5th as well. He's pressing forward with a lot more confidence since the cut was opened on Clark, but I thought Clark was able to pull it back together, and get the better of the 6th by a hair. It was close though.

4-2 Clark
