The WBO's August 2018 rankings- as of August 23, 2018- were posted on the WBO's website on August 23, 2018.

There are two new champions, Eleider Alvarez at 175 and Masayuki Ito at 130, and three new #1 contenders, Marcus Browne at 175, Dennis Hogan at 154, and Evgeny Chuprakov at 130.

The WBA's August 2018 ratings, based on results through August 31, 2018, were published and posted on the WBA's website August 31, 2018.

The major changes were as follows:

Heavyweight: new #1 and (Interim Champion)- Trevor Bryan (had been #4; Interim Champion had been vacant); previous #1- Alexander Povetkin now #2

Super Featherweight- new #1- Rene Alvarado (had been #2); previous #1- James Tennyson now N/A- IBF; Abner Mares now ranked #5 (had been #5 at 126)

Featherweight- Tomoki Kameda now ranked #5 (had been #2 at 122).

It should be noted that the WBA has new #14 and #15 ranked heavyweight contenders, Joe Joyce and Christopher Lovejoy. Commonwealth champion Joyce, a 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist, is 5-0 with 5 KOs. All five wins have come against opponents with winning records. Three of his bouts were scheduled for eight rounds, one for 10, and one for 12. The latter was for the Commonwelth title which Joyce captured by knocking out defending champion Lenroy Thomas in the second round.

The 34-year-old Lovejoy is 12-0 with 12 KOs. Only one of his wins has come against an opponent with a winning record and none of his bouts, all held in Tijuana, Mexico, have been scheduled for more than six rounds.

The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's latest rankings- those based on fights held through September 15, 2018- were posted on the TBRB's website September 18, 2018. Citing "mitigating circumstances", the Chairs proposed recognizing Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as the world middleweight champion and the majority of the members agreed despite the strong objections of those who felt Alvarez should have fought his way back into the rankings before being permitted to fight for the title. Besides the filling of the previously open middleweight throne, there were changes in the Pound-For-Pound Top Ten and the Top Tens for the super middleweight, junior welterweight, junior featherweight, and junior bantamweight.

The WBO's September 2018 rankings, allegedly as of September 25, were posted on the WBO's webite September 25.

The results of many fights that took place as early as September 15 are not reflected in the current rankings.

The major changes that are contained in the new rankings are as follows:

Junior Heavyweight (Cruiserweight):
- new #1 contender- Tony Bellew (was not ranked in August)
- previous #1 Maxim Vlasov now ranked #5

Lightweight:
- new World Champion- Jose Pedraza (had been ranked #2)
- previous World Champion, Raymundo Beltran, now ranked #4

Bantamweight:
- new #1 contender- Duke Micah (had been ranked #3)
- previous #1 Juan Carlos Payano now N/A-WBA
- previous #2 Jason Moloney now N/A-IBF

The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's latest rankings- those based on fights held through October 7, 2018- were posted on the TBRB's website October 9, 2018. There were changes in the Pound-For-Pound Top Ten and in the Top Tens for six of the seventeen divisions.
